Spooky October Parties

October in Austin starts with two weeks of music but finishes on a spooky and festive note. The next few weeks are packed with everything from a Beatles-themed costume party to Dia de los Muertos downtown parade and festival.

Where: ACL Live

Why: Salt-N-Pepa are playing this party. That’s really reason enough to go. Grab your picture on the blood red carpet. People go all out on their zombie outfits for the ball every year. So, bring your A-game and try for your crown as King and Queen of the Zombies.

When: Friday, October 30 – Saturday, October 31

Where: Camp Champions

Why: Do512 and Alamo Drafthouse have come together to make your dreams come true. It’s part summer camp – bunks, arts & crafts, water sports, bonfires, smores – and part party – movie screenings, live music, brews. And with ts being over the Halloween weekend, you know there’s a spooky twist!

Benefitting: LBJ Presidential Library

Why: A costume party theme is one thing, but one inspired by the Beatles (and has an Abbey Road photobooth!) is one we are definitely all about. Twist and shout the night away with drinks and bites, and if you have one of the best outfits of the night, prizes like an Epiphone Casino Guitar or SXSW Music Badges might be yours!

Where: Treaty Oak Ranch

Why: This celebration of the dead is truly a fiesta and festival for the whole city. The free event in downtown Austin has live music, food from Austin favorites like Veracruz All Natual and Chi’lantro and even a Chihuahua costume contest!
