RECAP: Play Bingo Ladies Luncheon benefiting Center for Child Protection

From the minute the elevator doors opened onto the Hilton Austin ballroom, the excitement of this event was palpable. With close to 1,000 women in attendance, the Play Bingo Ladies Luncheon, sponsored by Lexus Austin, was a fun-filled, woman-centric, bingo playing afternoon that was well spent benefiting the Center for Child Protection.

With sponsors like Kendra Scott, Neiman Marcus, Hiatus Spa and Retreat and David Yurman (to name a few), the silent auction items and bingo prizes were in high demand.

Influential women of all ages gathered at this festive luncheon wearing everything from casual cocktail dresses, feather boas and Breakfast at Tiffany’s themed costumes. There were also a vast array of inspiring and colorful handmade chapeaus.

Emcees Jim Spencer and Cassie LaMere were entertaining and informative, letting guests know about the work that the Center for Child Protection does in helping Austin’s youngest victims reclaim their childhood.

Final numbers raised at the luncheon are still being tabulated, but we did hear that $141,000 was donated from cards on the table alone – more than twice what was raised last year, proving that Austin’s ladies were indeed, “Ready for some Bingo, darling!”
