RECAP: Big Reds and Bubbles

All the pieces were in place for a grand night out. A gloriously ornate setting; no shortage of food from the city’s top restaurants; tasty, rare wines and Champagnes…and a crowd of oenophiles and foodies to enjoy all of the above! The Wine and Food Foundation of Texas literally had it all at their 11th Annual Big Reds & Bubbles benefit.

Strange Fruit PR

450 guests filled each room on the mezzanine level of the Driskill as they tasted their way through delicious bites from Mettle, Barley Swine, Salty Sow, Swift’s Attic and many more restaurants. Wines from all across the world perfectly complimented the food offerings and kept the party swinging.

Ballroom Wine

The event raised more than $26,000 for The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas, all of which supports education and excellence in the culinary and viticultural arts and health in the community. Notables from these worlds and the Austin social whirl were visibly ecstatic about the setting, the food and the wines…not to mention the great music and festive atmosphere.

Spotted in the crowd were the expected star chefs, but also foundation members and vintners. Among them were Fredrick Österberg of Pedernales Cellars, Addie Broyles, Raquel Frankenberg, Denise Clarke, Andrew West, along with Jennifer and Marshall Jones.
