RECAP: Ballet Austin Fete & Fete*ish

Ballet Austin understands the importance of mixing patrons of all ages. They begin their annual fundraiser, Fete, with a luxe dinner for a carefully curated crowd, yet while that’s happening a companion party, Fete*ish, begins in another part of the venue.

Geared toward the younger (and young at heart) set, Fete*ish is sometimes confused as an after party, but that’s hardly the case. An event in its own right, Fete*ish has grown over the years and last Friday’s 2013 edition at The Driskill didn’t disappoint.

A stunning dinner in the ballroom took its cue from the ballet’s season opener, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, replete with gorgeous floral decor by Mandarin Flower Co. and luminous lighting design by ILIOS setting the scene.

Meanwhile, the mezzanine came to life with the sound of the Divisi Strings playing contemporary hits as guests noshed on tasty food and drinks, relaxed in the VIP lounge and enjoyed carafes of St. Germain as they perused this event’s trademark Swag Barre (sponsored by your own Social Planner). As the dinner concluded, the guests mixed, mingled and danced the night away…leaving everyone to wonder how Ballet Austin will top themselves next year!
