Keeping Austin fashionable since 2008, Matt Swinney, the founder of Austin Fashion Week, and his talented team produced a strong start to Austin’s most stylish event of the year. Held at the JW Marriott, Austin’s finest local designers showed their impressive collections to Austin fashionistas — a portion of ticket sales benefited Dell Children’s Medical Center.

Pre-runway show, guests enjoyed red-carpet bubbles from event sponsor Chloe Wine Collection. Act one of the show featured Project Runway stars, such as local Austinite Daniel Esquivel, who utilized custom textiles and sequin overlays along with his signature pop of red in the form of a stunning cape coat.

Texas-based rising talents finished off the first act. One featured designer was Oshlianna Dreamel Stewart, an 18-year-old patient at Dell Children’s Survivorship Clinic. Other patients from Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas modeled Oshlianna’s fashionable designs.

Act two of the evening commenced with a playful tribute to honoree Laura Craddick, a style-setter and longtime supporter of Dell Children’s Medical Center. Models showed a peek into Craddick’s closet, showcasing some of the gorgeous looks, including some from local designers Katie Kime and Daniel Esquivel, that she has worn to various philanthropic Austin events.

The stylish Craddick was fittingly wearing a Katie Kime design. Kime, the fina designer of the evening, showcased a beautiful collection featuring her trademark prints and sherbet-hues … a sweet and beautiful dessert to a feast of fashion!
