Twenty Five years is certainly cause for celebration and last week was no exception. Case in point is Austin’s homegrown Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum, who raised a glass to a quarter century of its immensely popular spring fundraiser, The Garden Party.
Kicked off by Executive Director Nina Seely and Austin Mayor Steve Adler, the gorgeous evening was christened by a Champagne toast to everyone who made event possible. Proceeds from Garden Party provide access for more than 40,000 patrons annually, all while preserving the legacy of renowned sculptor Charles Umlauf.
Nestled among the enchanting grounds and treasured works of art were tasting stations from some of the city’s most popular restaurants, including Apis, Geraldine’s, Kome, Juliet and SATAY. Beverages were curated by TWIN Liquors and featured fine wines and bubbles, with Rosé choices being an especially big hit on this late-April night.
The pinnacle of the evening began right after a live auction when a video from key sponsors and supporters was screened, which lent an even more celebratory mood to the masses. Afterward, an enormous cake was cut and the entire party came together to toast the museum, its multi-decade success and a future expansion project of the grounds.
