Bodega Bites, POP International Art Show, First Edition Literary Gala, Tequilas & Taquitos

FOOD: Tequila Cazadores is celebrating Hispanic Heritage month and the best authentic tacos in ATX by hosting Bodega Bites, a Taco Tuesday happy hour with chef Aaron Sanchez at Javelina on Rainey Street. Expect Sanchez to whip up with tacos from Supermercado El Rancho next Tuesday, September 19th from 6:00-8:00pm. This event is open to the public but please RSVP.

ARTS: Tickets are now on sale for the POP Austin International Art Show, taking place November 9-12, at Fair Market on E. 5th St. VIP access, which includes admission for all three days plus the opening night event, single day general admission, and 3-day general admission are now available for purchase on www.POPAustin.com and range from $20 to $150.

BOOKS: The Texas Book Festival recently announced the lineup of presenters at the 2017 First Edition Literary Gala, including Min Jin LeeWalter IsaacsonAttica Locke, Kevin Young and Skip Hollandsworth. The event takes place on Friday, November 3 at the Four Seasons Hotel Austin.

FOOD: South First Street’s Alcomar has announced dates for its three-part fall chef dinner series that kicks off Tuesday, Sept. 19. In each monthly installment, chefs Alma Alcocer and Jeff Martinez will prepare a 5-course dinner showcasing local ingredients paired with handcrafted cocktails and spirits. The first dinner,called Flavors of Mexico: Tequilas & Taquitos, will feature rustic street food, fresh coastal catches, and modern Mexican masterpieces. The series will continue in October and November. Tickets are $55 each and can be purchased online.
