Creek Show 2016, Hotel Ella Salon Series, Sustainable Food Center Chef Series, L'enfant Terrible, Domaine Serene Winery Tasting

ARTS: The Waller Creek Conservancy released the 2016 designs for the five new artist installations that will be illuminating Creek Show 2016 from November 10–19. The free, public art exhibit begins with the opening night event on Thursday, November 10 at 6 p.m. Other confirmed events for Creek Show 2016 include Monster Bash, hosted by Generation Waller on November 11, and an Artist Talk on November 15 at with the Creek Show 2016 designers.

ARTS: Introducing the Hotel Ella Salon Series: Tuesday, October 25th, Hotel Ella will host an intimate evening with Carl McQueary all about the permanent collection at the hotel. The collection includes works by celebrated Texas artists Michael Frary, Charles Umlauf, Ralph White and Kelly Fearing. The event is free with RSVP.

FOOD: On Sunday, November 13th, 2016, some of Central Texas’ most talented chefs will come together for the annual Sustainable Food Center Chef Series at La Condesa. Participating chefs include Chef Rick Lopez of La Condesa (Austin), Chefs Diego Galicia and Rico Torres of Mixtli (San Antonio), Chef Jason Stude of Boiler Nine (Austin), Chef Michael Paley of South Congress Hotel (Austin), Chef Thomas Calhoun of Lenoir (Austin), and Chef Yoshi Okai of Otoko (Austin). Tickets are $150 per person and on sale now.

ARTS: On Saturday, October 22nd, Austin artist Denise Prince hosts L’enfant Terrible, a one-night-only happening at Justine’s Secret House, for which she’s translated her latest body of work into an immersive experience. Expect original film and photographs, hors d’oeuvres and drinks, as well as interactive installations, disco naps, a kissing booth and absinthe lollipops. More information is available on Prince’s site.

FOOD: West 5th St. favorite Fixe is hosting a special “Daily Social” with Domaine Serene Winery on October 26, with 100% of tasting sales earmarked for donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Hosted by Robert Gilroy, the tasting will take place from 5pm – 7pm and will feature bites from the kitchen in addition to the wine. Tickets are $25 per guest.
