Waller Creek Pop-Up Picnic, Leadership Austin Best Party Ever, Art Bra Austin, The Masters at Olamaie, Historic Homes Tour

FOOD: Baskets are now on sale for the fourth annual Waller Creek Pop-Up Picnic at Palm Park, taking place April 16 at 6:30 pm. Restaurants for 2016 include Franklin Barbecue, Contigo Austin, Sway, Central Standard, Jeffrey’s, Juliet, Easy Tiger, Olamaie, Uchiko and more.  This free community picnic is an Austin favorite!

CHARITY: On May 6th, Leadership Austin will honor three noteworthy Austinites at the 2016 Best Party Ever: Mark Williams with the Polly Scallorn Community Trustee Award, Bobby Jenkins with the Exceptional Award for an Honorary Alumnus, and Yvette Ruiz with the Ascendant Award.

ARTS:  The Breast Cancer Resource Center hosts its fifth annual runway extravaganza, Art Bra Austin, on June 4th at the Palmer Events Center. 72 pieces of wearable art from Austin’s creative community of designers, artists, jewelers, and craftspeople will be modeled and auctioned off. Reserved seating (and early bird GA tickets) are on sale beginning April 1st.

FOOD: The fine folks at Olamaie will host a watch party for The Masters golf tournament on Sunday, April 10 from Noon to 7 pm. The menu will feature classic Masters’ snacks like egg salad, pimiento cheese and the restaurant’s much-lauded biscuits. Tickets are $25, with a portion of proceeds benefiting The Butler Park Pitch & Putt Golf Association.

DESIGN: The 2016 Historic Homes Tour, benefiting Preservation Austin, will take place on Saturday, April 30th from 10 am to 4 pm.  The tour of North Central Austin’s mid-century Allandale, Brentwood and Crestview neighborhoods showcases classic examples of Austin’s post-World War II housing boom. Tickets are now available for purchase.
