FOOD: Second Bar + Kitchen Domain NORTHSIDE hosts a special evening with Dina Mondavi, co-founder of the Napa Valley Michael Mondavi Family Estate wines, Wednesday, March 7th from 7pm – 10pm. The intimate evening will include a cocktail reception and a five-course tasting menu prepared by Executive Chef David Bull, designed with pairings by Paula Rester from Dina Mondavi’s wine selections. Both Chef Bull and Rester will be onsite to elaborate on the dishes and pairings, alongside Mondavi, for a truly incredible & unique experience for diners. FASHION: This year marks the 10-year-anniversary of Austin Fashion Week, presented by Fashion X Austin, to be held March 29th through April 7th. The weeks kicks off with a new music-fueled fashion event – Fashion X Austin LIVE! – at the original Austin City Limits stage at Studio 6A and benefiting KLRU. April 5th will feature the BERNINA Fashion Fund Showcase awarding over $40,000 for emerging designers. The week will close with The Runways and Galleries including collections from local and national designers along with some of Lifetime Television’s Project Runway Stars. ENTERTAINMENT: Mack, Jack & McConaughey announced that Grammy Award-winning band Dixie Chicks will headline the 2018 MJ&M Gala on Thursday, April 12th at ACL Live at The Moody Theater. Tickets are on sale Friday, March 2nd at 10:00 am and available to the public here.
CHARITY: Kindnesspalooza is coming to Austin on Saturday, March 17th with a series of free live musical performances to promote anti-bullying efforts through kindness and The Kindness Campaign. Performers include The Mrs, Madison McWilliams, Ian Moore, Jackie Venson and more. The event will include Irish Coffee with The Mrs, The Kindness Campaign photo booth, a Kind Market, and the “Art of Kindness” where a local artist will be creating art with messages of kindness. SPORT: NLand, Austin’s own surf destination, reopens for the 2018 season this month with two free opening events. NLand’s season kicks off with Sound Wave, a beach concert with surfing, pop-up workouts and craft beer on March 10th. On March 11th, NLand continues the celebration with Surf Sanctuary – a day of surfing and wellness. They will have yoga, music, a yoga dance party with BENDER and Crisit Christensen, complimentary tastings from great local wineries, pop up shops and more.
