James Beard Foundation Taste America Culinary Tour, 12th Annual Andy Roddick Foundation Gala, National Ice Cream Day at Lick, Alcomar Micheladas and Mariscos, Texas Tribune Festival TribFeast

FOOD: James Beard Foundation announced their fifth anniversary Taste America® Culinary Tour and Austin is one of the 10 stops, November 3-4. Austin’s weekend-long Taste America program will feature an exclusive kick-off event, a one-of-a-kind benefit dinner prepared by Taste America all-star Ludo Lefebvre, local star Tyson Cole and pastry chef Laura Sawicki. Tickets are now on sale.

NONPROFIT: The Andy Roddick Foundation released their date and artist for their 12th Annual Andy Roddick Foundation Gala. The evening will feature a cocktail reception, an extensive live auction, an elegant dinner and live concert with special musical guest Jake Owen on Monday, October 30. Sponsorship opportunities are now available.

CHARITY: On July 16 – National Ice Cream Day – Lick Honest Ice Creams will donate 7% of the day’s sales proceeds to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas AND Ronald McDonald House Charities San Antonio.

FOOD: El Chile Group’s Mexican seafood restaurant, Alcomar, recently announced a DIY summer series featuring craft cocktails and artist-led tutorials inspired by the art that adorns the restaurant’s walls. The next upcoming part of the series is Micheladas & Mariscos this Saturday, July 15​. Each ticket is $50 and includes a 3-course cooking class, full recipes and lunch.

NONPROFIT: The annual Texas Tribune Festival announced a new event for 2017: TribFeast, Saturday, September 23.  Guest for the evening is Katy Tur of MSNBC and author of the soon-to-be-published book Unbelievable, her front-row account of the craziest campaign in American history. Individual tickets and tables are available, including a special VIP package for two that includes Festival tickets. Proceeds from TribFeast benefit the Tribune’s ambitious, award-winning work.
