Billy Gibbons Spokesperson for Texas Rising Stars, ByGeorge Winter Tent Sale, Austin Oyster Festival Back in February, The Hightower Hosts Charity Night, Black Fret Season Launch, Toast and Roast Tickets On Sale

ARTS:  Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top has been named spokesperson of the Texas Rising Stars campaign, which goes live February 1 and supports the Texas Cultural Trust’s Young Masters Scholarship Program. The 2016 Young Masters Award Ceremony with special guests Blackshear Elementary Fine Arts Academy & The Peterson Brothers takes place in April at ZACH Theatre.

FASHION:  By George hosts its First Annual Winter Tent Sale this Saturday and Sunday, January 30 and 31, at its Lamar location. Expect deep discounts on men’s and women’s designer pieces, home items and accessories…plus the Jeffrey’s Martini & Champagne Cart! CHARITY:   On Thursday February 4th, The Hightower is hosting a special charity night with 20 percent of sales going to benefit Amadeo’s Army.  The evening also benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Call 512.524.1448 for more information.

FOOD: The fourth-annual Austin Oyster Festival is back Saturday, February  27 from Noon to 6 p.m. at the French Legation Museum and benefits H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Everywhere). Advanced tickets for the Austin Oyster Festival are available now.

ENTERTAINMENT: A new season of Black Fret launches this weekend with a night featuring performances by Sweet Spirit, Walker Lukens and Harvest Thieves.  The private event is open to those who wish to become a member of Black Fret.

FOOD:  The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas hosts its second annual Toast & Roast event February 28 at the Stonehouse Villa in Driftwood. Presented in association with Texas Monthly, the event celebrates Texas’ growing wine industry. Tickets are $75 and available now.
