CHARITY: Emancipet’s popular Valentine’s Day-inspired fundraiser Sit Stay Day is back! Dozens of local businesses donate goodies that are assembled into kits, delivered to homes and offices before Valentine’s Day. It lets pets and their humans stay in and enjoy homegrown Austin treats while raising money for pets in need! Kits are $175 and on sale now through February 5 at emancipet.org/events/sit-stay-day.
FASHION: Austin’s favorite bi-annual fashionable and affordable shopping bonanza – Le Garage Sale – is back January 21-22 at the Palmer Event Center. Tickets are $10 per day. For $20, you can be a VIP with access one hour before the masses to get your hands on the best sales first!
ENTERTAINMENT: Austin nonprofit Black Fret is back for another amazing year with its 2017 Season Launch on January 21st with artists Mobley, Moving Panoramas, Saul Paul, SURVIVE, Tinnarose and Whiskey Shivers. Those who want to attend the launch party may become a member of Black Fret by signing up at www.blackfret.org/join. All memberships provide entry for the member and a guest to all upcoming 2017 Black Fret events.
FOOD: Fixe is celebrating their 2nd Anniversary with a wine tasting daily social hour benefiting the Center for Child Protection, January 25th from 5 pm – 7 pm. They will feature Argyle Winery and Roco Winery wines, have complimentary bites and Argyle’s winemaker Rollin Soles will be in attendance. Tickets for the event are $30 per person or $15 per person with a cash donation to Center for Child Protection. Guests may also bring an item from the non-profit’s wish list in lieu of the cash donation.
CHARITY: By George and Austin Pets Alive are brightening up this gloomy week with a Who Is That Doggy in the Window? event on Saturday, January 21st from 2-4pm at the South Congress By George store. Austin Pets Alive will be featuring 24 pups (one every 10 minutes) in the window, all available for adoption.
