Merry Merry Martini Mixer, Out of the Cellar: A Rare Texas Beer Dinner, St. David’s Foundation Amplify Austin Grant, 2017 West Austin Studio Tour

NONPROFIT: The 13th bi-annual Merry Merry Martini Mixer, benefiting Equality Texas, takes place this Saturday, January 14th at Fair Market. Equality Texas’ biggest fundraiser sets the stage for the organizations’ work in the 2017 Legislative Session by supporting efforts to secure full equality for LGBTQ Texans. Expect signature martinis, wine, gourmet bites, a silent auction and music beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $75.

FOOD: Popular farm to fork eatery Greenhouse Craft Food will host Out of the Cellar: A Rare Texas Beer Dinner, a five-course beer pairing dinner on Sunday, January 22nd. The event will feature five extremely rare kegs of Texas craft brews only available at this dinner, plus a unique menu and pairings for each course created by executive chef Rob Snow and chef de cuisine Todd Engel. Tickets are $100 per person.

CHARITY: St. David’s Foundation announced this week that they will give $1 million in matching grants for Amplify Austin. This year’s Amplify Austin will take place over a 24-hour period beginning at 6 pm on March 2nd. The 2017 goal is to raise over $9 million!

ARTS:  Big Medium has set the dates for the  2017 West Austin Studio Tour — May 13-14 & 20-21.  West Austin Studio Tour (WEST) is a free, annual, self-guided art event spanning across two weekends in May, and provides opportunities for the public to meet the local artists and artisans of Austin in their creative spaces.
