“We love that we keep doing the event in both Houston and in Austin,” said Shaun Brennan, Founder of Splice Records. “Two cities, two celebrations with the same format that have that same fun-loving feeling. It feels like a modern day party wrapped in a time warp that is simply all about dancing and having fun the old fashion way!”

The brainchild of Hank Schyma (of local band Southern Backtones fame), who commemorated Elvis’ birthday at Avante Garden each year, Bowie Elvis Fest officially started in 2010 with an inaugural event at the infamous local venue.
