Event Recap: Austin Under 40 Awards

It’s no secret that Austin is filled with young talent making a difference in the corporate and non-profit worlds. Last Friday, the Austin Under 40 Awards celebrated these leaders in the community with a sold out, fun-filled night.

The grand winner of the evening was’s CEO and Founder, Dan Graham, the 2012 Austin Under 40 Austinite of the Year.

Other award winners for the evening  included: Andy Roddick (Arts & Entertainment), Anthony Gonzales (Architecture, Design, & Engineering), Matt Kouri (Community Service), Andrea McWilliams (Government & Public Affairs), Kristen Wicke (Finance & Insurance), Amy Welborn (Legal), Rachel Armbruster (Marketing, PR, & Advertising), Chris Hester (Medical & Healthcare), Monte Lee-Wen (Real Estate), Joshua Baer (Technology and Science) and Todd Hanna (Youth & Education).

Emcees Matt Curtis and Katie Stolp kept the evening jovial and light with their on-going play off the movie Anchorman. A particular highlight was Bobby Bones‘ acceptance speech on behalf of winner Andy Roddick. He’s a funny one that Mr. Bones.

The Austin Music Hall was packed wall-to-wall with close to 700 guests who raised a glass to all the winners for the evening. Then all retreated – and let their hair down a little a bit – at the  Rattle Inn after party. Good times had by all!
