Ballet Austin’s Fête10 presented by W Austin – September 10, 2010

The Austin Social Planner’s top pick for our launch week is Ballet Austin’s Fête10! According to The Wall Street Journal, this fundraiser represents the unofficial kick-off to the fall social season in Austin. This year’s event is titled Fête10, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Artistic Director Stephen Mills tenure.

The gala evening will begin with dinner for a select 100 guests at the Butler Dance Education Center, followed by a performance and retrospective of Stephen’s “Decade of Dance” with Ballet Austin in the Austin Ventures Theater. The event then transitions to Austin’s landmark Seaholm Power Plant for “The Party of the Decade,” which is sure to blow the lid off the smokestacks at one of the city’s landmark locations with more than 700 people expected to attend. The historic venue will be transformed into a visual tribute to Ballet Austin, featuring larger than life projections of notable ballets, grandiose set pieces and props from past productions, plus intricately themed food and cocktail stations.

A centerpiece of the party will be a Carolina Hererra runway show presented and produced by Neiman Marcus, followed by dancing and noshing the night away with some of Austin’s hottest restaurants, including Piranha Killer Sushi, Siena Ristorante Toscana and Garrido’s Restaurant. Twin Liquors will provide ballet themed specialty cocktails for all the revelers as DJ Manny helps them power through an evening that is sure to help Fête10 live up to its billing as the “Party of the Decade!”
